Calgary Winter Club Cup

The Waves may be a small team but we are proving to be a potent team in the province.  This past weekend, Waves swimmers brought home 21 medals including 15 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. 14 swimmers competed in a total of 79 individual swims & 2 relay races. Besides the medals that we won, the swimmers had a total of 33 top 10 finishes & a total of 62 personal best times.

I wanted to let you know a little bit about each of these 14 swimmers & how they swam this past weekend.

The last silver medal was won by the Girls 10 & U 200m Free Relay Team. The team included; Jordan Mortlock, Julie-Ann Jans, Abby Caron & Trinity Shilka. Way to swim girls, hope you had fun!

The coaches & swimmers all agree that this was a very fun meet, everyone had a great time.  The meet was very well organized & the session were all on time.  Bell prizes were awarded so some of the kids won fun prizes.  This is definitely a meet that we would like to attend again next season.  A special thank you to Kenton Shilka and Betsy Dunphy who worked as officials for the meet and for helping bring additional awareness of our Waves program to other clubs.

All results will be posted on the bulletin board upstairs at the pool tomorrow.
